The data coming from Trendforce market analysts shows us that Smart TV sales were up in the third quarter of 2019 from the previous quarter. Samsung tops the list, and Xiaomi keeps fifth but goes down.

Xiaomi went from quarter to quarter from 3 million orders to 2.75 million orders. This means the company dropped 8.3% in sales in just one quarter.

TV sales up 16.8% overall

The truth is that Xiaomi was the only one to fall in sales during this period. Overall, sales were up 16.8%, and Samsung went from 8.9 million orders to 10.41 million. The increase was 17.0% over the previous quarter.

Secondly, we find no surprise to LG. With a 25.3% increase this quarter, the manufacturer placed 7.44 million orders, up from 5.94 million in the previous quarter.

Although with a slight loss compared to the previous year (0.7%), TCL rose 14.0% quarter over quarter. Third on the list, it went from 4.21 million orders to 4.62.

Hisense made the biggest percentage jump

Hisense is fourth and recorded the highest percentage increase in the entire list – 48.0% over the previous quarter. It went from 3.11 to 4.62 million orders, and was closer to TCL and much far from Xiaomi.

TrendForce estimates that TV shipments in the fourth quarter of 2019 will reach 65.42 million units.

Xiaomi TV

It is worth to mention that Xiaomi has a thriving TV brand and one of the reasons for its blistering performance is its pricing. The company has recently announced that the Xiaomi Mi TV 4X 43-inch version will significantly reduce its price, the original price is 1499 yuan ($213). However, this TV will sell for 999 yuan ($142). This is a 500 yuan ($71) price cut.

Note that Xiaomi TV 4X arrived sometime last year. The biggest feature is the ultra-narrow frame + piano paint appearance which makes it stylish and elegant. The Xiaomi Mi TV 4X 43-inch version uses a resolution of 1920×1080, a refresh rate of 60Hz, and a viewing angle of 178 °. It comes with a 6th-generation image quality engine and has true and vivid colors. This TV also has a 64-bit processor as well as 4GB RAM/8GB internal storage. It uses a 2x8W high-power stereo speakers with high sound quality, bringing an immersive surround experience. In terms of interfaces, it comes with USB, HDMI, AV, and a network interface.
