According to Taiwan’s “Central News Agency” report, the wafer foundry, TSMC, is progressing smoothly on its 5nm process. This manufacturing process will go into mass production in the first half of this year. TSMC will hold a corporate briefing soon on its advanced process technology. This has become the focus of attention in the market. According to reports, TSMC's 5nm process is 80% complete. Interestingly, there are speculations that TSMC could win all orders for Apple's 5nm A14 processor.
TSMC will not only take orders for Apple's 5nm A14 processor, it will also receive orders for Huawei's 5nm high-end processor. This will contribute about 8% of TSMC's revenue this year. Benefiting from the strong demand for 5G and high-efficiency computing, TSMC's 7nm performance this year will probably continue to grow. It will also boost TSMC's revenue growth by 20% this year.
In other reports, TSMCs revenue for December 2019 exceeds $3 billion. According to data disclosed by TSMC, the net revenue in December last year was $3.449 billion in contracts. In December 2018, TSMC’s revenue was NT $ 89.831 billion (about $2.9 billion), compared with NT $ 103.313 billion ($3.4 billion) in December last year, an increase of 15%. Although TSMC’s net revenue in December last year increased by 15% year-on-year, it declined from the previous month. In November last year, TSMC’s net revenue was 107.874 billion Taiwan dollars ($3.5 billion), which represents a decrease of 4.571 billion Taiwan dollars ($152 million) compared to December.
