HMD Global’s new smartphone appeared in the Bluetooth certification database and the production model is Nokia TA-1207. Although there were expectations that this device is the Nokia 1.3, new information from the certification entry indicates that the device may actually be Nokia 4.3, a successor to the entry-level Nokia 4.2. According to the NPU report, the hardware version number of Nokia TA-1207 is 89572_1_12, and the hardware version number of Nokia 4.2 is 89571_1_12.
The certification confirms that this device will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC. However, it does not disclose the specific chip. Nevertheless, the certification shows that the new Nokia device has a height of 146.6mm and a width of 70.5mm. This is similar to Nokia 4.2 with a height of 148.9mm and a width of 71.3mm. This indicates that Nokia 4.3 will be thinner and thinner than 4.2.
The battery capacity of Nokia TA-1207 is similar to Nokia 4.2. This further proves that Nokia TA-1207 is the successor of the latter. HMD Global usually announces its new phones at the Mobile World Congress. With the arrival of MWC 2020 next month, Nokia 4.3 is likely to debut at this conference. Nokia 4.2, launched in May 2019, uses a 5.71-inch HD+ display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, optional 2GB or 3GB RAM and 16GB or 32GB storage.
