Xiaomi Mi 10 will be expensive – Lei Jun confirms


FollowingĀ Lu Weibingā€™sĀ advance notice of theĀ Xiaomi Mi 10 series announcement, the first real images of the Mi 10 series hit the web. The images are consistent with the previous exposure ā€“ the front and back use curved surfaces. We also know that Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship will use LPDDR 5 memory as standard. Chang Cheng, vice president of Xiaomi Technology, also hinted that Xiaomi Mi 10 will support UFS3, Snapdragon 865, LPDDR5.0 as well as 5G network. With all these specifications, what do we expect of the price tag?

Interestingly, Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s CEO responded to a Weibo post, saying that “this time…I asked to lift the price constraint and focus on making the product better!”. This statement shows that the Xiaomi Mi 10 will first consider quality before the budget.Ā 

When Lei Jun announced the establishment of the Redmi sub-brand, he said: “The purpose of an independent Redmi is for the company to develop in different directions. Xiaomi focuses on the mid-to-high-end market, while Redmi creates the ultimate price-performance devices.
