The latest teaser regards the camera configuration we’ll be finding on the iQOO 3. Vivo’s sub-brand did indeed confirm the smartphone will be packing a 48MP quad camera setup. This means we’ve a 48MP primary shooter, paired with a custom made secondary 13MP sensor with 50mm professional portrait lens.

iQOO’s product manager – Song Ziwei – then added a personal comment about the specially customized 13MP 50mm portrait camera. More specifically, she said that “Friends who have played with photography know that the 50mm lens has the same perspective effect as the human eye; thus it brings a better effect for portraits. Additionally, with the built-in portrait mode, iQOO’s self-developed algorithm separates the subject from the background while preserving the depth of field information. In the end, the subject becomes more prominent and the background blurs more naturally”.

Moving onto the other cameras, we find a must have ultra-wide-angle lens. To this regard, Song Ziwei said that “The iQOO 3 uses a 13-megapixel AF ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120° field of view; bringing a ‘shocking sense of space'”.

Another important feature implemented in smartphone cameras nowadays is the one to improve backlight when we have a bright background behind the subject. To fix this issue the iQOO 3 will be equipped with Hyper-HDR super backlight and AI intelligent algorithm. With the feature we could finally get the pink clouds and the blue sky in the distance, along with the details on the subject’s face, hair and more.

Going back to the main camera, while iQOO revealed it’ll sport 48MP resolution, the company did not specify which sensor it is. The previously launched iQOO Pro packed a Sony IMX582, so we expect to see the same or an upgrade to an IMX586.

As far other specs as concerned, the iQOO 3 will pack the latest and fastest UFS 3.1 flash memory, along with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, a 4440mAh capacity battery and support for 55W flash charge.
