TSMC’s June revenue exceeded $4.1 billion, a 40.8% year-on-year increase

Taiwanese chip manufacturer, TSMC, is perhaps the largest chipmaker in the world. Many top companies like Apple, Qualcomm, Huawei, and others rely on its solution. Earlier today, TSMC took to its official website to announce its June revenue. According to information on the official website, TSMC’s June revenue hit NT$120.878 billion ($4.1 billion).

We can see that its June revenue exceeded $4 billion which is probably the highest monthly revenue for TSMC. According to the information on TSMC’s official website, in the 22 years from 1999 to the present, only June’s revenue exceeded $4 billion. It’s previous highest was NT$113.52 billion (3.8 billion) which it recorded in March this year. Except for March and June of this year, TSMC’s revenue in other months was less than NT$110 billion ($3.7 billion).

TSMC’s June revenue figure shows that there is a substantial year-on-year growth for the company. In May this year, TSMC’s revenue was NT$93.189 billion ($3.1 billion), which was an increase of 28.8% relative to same period of last year. In June last year, TSMC recorded a revenue of NT$85.868 billion ($2.9 billion). Relative to this year, the company records a 40.8% increase.

When disclosing June’s revenue, TSMC also disclosed revenue for the first half of the year. According to the company, its revenue from January to June hit NT$621.296 billion ($21 billion). As of same period last year, the company’s revenue was NT$459.703 billion ($15.5 billion). This is an increase of 35.2% year-on-year.
