Vivo Y51s goes official with Exynos 880 5G, Triple-Camera array and 4,500mAh battery

Earlier this year, a Vivo spokesperson assured that the company would greatly expand its offer of 5G smartphones. Over the past months, we saw the company’s commitment to this promise through several new devices boasting the new network standard from both Vivo and iQOO brands. Now, the company has yet another 5G mid-range phone to introduce – The Vivo Y51s. The device shares some key specs with the recently announced Vivo Y70s including the FHD+ display, Exynos 880 5G SoC, and a more than capable battery.

Vivo Y51s specifications

The new Vivo Y51s flaunts a 6.53-inch Ful HD+ LCD display complete with a punch-hole solution for the 8MP selfie snapper. The cutout is placed in the top left corner and the panel has a 19:5:9 aspect ratio.  The display has a 90.72% screen-to-body ratio, its 2340×1080 resolution results in 394 PPI. Last but not least, the panel supports 16.7 million colors.

Moving around to the back, we have a triple-camera array comprising a 48MP ultra-clear main camera with f/1.79 aperture. It sits next to a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Last but not least, we have a 2MP macro shooter with an f/2.4 aperture. The phone supports video recording with up to 4K@30 fps resolution. This setup also offers 10x digital zoom and 4K video recording.

The handset also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Moreover, it runs Funtouch OS 10.5 with Android 10 running above. It draws power from a 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast-charging. The source states that this is achieved through a micro USB port, but we can’t see this happening. It’s a 5G phone with a $256 price tag, there’s no excuse for not using a USB C port here. So we guess this is just a wrong translation.
