After a lapse of 5 years, on July 21, OnePlus took the lead overseas to launch a brand-new OnePlus Nord sub-flagship smartphone. The machine has been provided with two color combinations of blue marble and gray onyx. They have a beautiful metallic texture under the light. Recently, GSMArena revealed that OnePlus will launch a new color for the Nord in early October – Gray Ash.
As GSMArena reports, the OnePlus Nord will get a new color option of Gray Ash in early October. As said above, there is already a gray version, named Gray Onyx. But it seems the new color variant differs from what we have now. We still don’t know what are the core differences between those two gray options. But the source claims the upcoming version will use a different material.
OnePlus Nord Features
As for the main selling points, the OnePlus Nord hosts a Snapdragon 765G SoC. It’s a power-efficient 7nm process node provides quite amazing performance. But what is more important, it supports 5G. The chip is coupled with a 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB of RAM.
On the front, we have a 6.44-inch AMOLED display, which is covered with a Gorilla Glass 5 coating. It has a FHD+ resolution and supports a 90Hz refresh rate. This panel has sRGB and P3 but unfortunately does not include HDR support. Due to its OLED nature, the in-display fingerprint scanner is ensured. Despite this, OnePlus still offers face unlock as an option.
The holes on the screen host 32MP (Sony IMX616) and 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensors.
The back of the phone has a horizontally placed main camera module. The main sensor has a 48MP resolution and a f/1.75 aperture. It supports OIS and EIS. The module is completed with an 8MP ultra-wide module with a 119º lens. Moreover, we have a 2MP macro module and 5MP for depth sensing. Unfortunately, there’s no dedicated camera for zooms. Despite this, this combo supports 4K@30fps video recording.
As for the rest of the features, the OnePlus Nord sports a 4,115mAh battery. That’s on par with current flagships, and the company even provides a Warp Charge 30T charger. This technology can ensure a 70% charge in just 30 minutes. The phone has a USB-C port, and unfortunately, it does not come with a 3.5mm headphone jack. You can always use the USB-C for wired headphones. However, the biggest trend is for TWS earphones, and OnePlus even introduced its first TWS headset today.
OnePlus Nord Gray Ash Availability
It is reported that the new Gray Ash OnePlus Nord is expected to be released in early October. Also, there should be a cheaper version of the machine, with 6GB of storage and 64GB of memory. But it will be exclusively available on Amazon India from next month.
