HMD Global has suffered from the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The company had to postpone several of its smartphones that were planned for the first half of 2020. Now, however, the company seems to be back on the grip as it is about to introduce two new phones in India. Moreover, the company will be attending IFA 2020 where we expect to see even more devices. When it comes to the Indian market, the company revealed a teaser video today that shows that two phones will be released soon.
The teaser video reveals the outline of the two upcoming devices. From it, we can easily understand that one is a feature phone while the other is a standard smartphone.

The smartphone probably is the Nokia C3
The new teaser corroborates with a leaked poster earlier today pointing to the imminent release of the Nokia C3 in the country. Interestingly enough, the outline of the video matches the image of the Nokia C3. Unfortunately, we don’t have much information regarding the upcoming feature phone. However, we do expect it to pack 4G connectivity. The biggest highlight of this release certainly will be the Nokia C3 which marks the arrival of a new UNISOC chipset on Nokia smartphones.
The Nokia C3 is not a surprise, after all, it has been released in China early this month. It flaunts a 5.99-inch HD+ display with flat bezels at the top and bottom parts. Under the hood, it carries a UNISOC chipset paired with up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. Moving around to the back we have a single 8MP camera coupled with a LED flash and a fingerprint scanner. On the front, we have a 5MP snapper. It’s interesting to see the availability of a fingerprint scanner in a device of this price point. It may tell something to Xiaomi which keeps the biometric sensor out of its low-end Redmi A series.
Getting back to the point, the Nokia C3 draws power from a modest 3,040mAh battery charged via a micro USB port. It’s a modest device and we expect it to be very cheap in the country. After all, Nokia is aware that India is one of the most competitive smartphone markets. So every step must be the right step to conquer the Indian customer.
