Xiaomi held a big event in China today where the company unveiled the highly anticipated Redmi Note 9 series composed of a Redmi Note 9 5G, Note 9 Pro 5G, and Note 9 4G. Alongside the new smartphones, the company surprised us with a Redmi Watch. The device has just been released in China, but we don’t think it will remain exclusive for a long time. The device passed on Bluetooth SIG alongside the Mi Watch Lite. This suggests that a global launch is closer than we imagined.

The tip comes straight from Mukul Sharma a reliable tipster. The listing on the Bluetooth SIG databases reveals two models. One is the REDMIWT01 and the other is the REDMIT02. Both products are similar and have been applied by Xiaomi Inc. The description of both the models reveals they are smartwatches. Moreover, the listing reveals Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity which certainly is a plus. Unfortunately, Bluetooth SIG is all about codenames and Bluetooth availability. The Redmi Watch specs aren’t a big mystery any more thanks to the Chinese launch. The Mi Watch Lite may be a similar product or even a rebranded Redmi Watch for distinct markets.
According to speculation, the Redmi Watch will likely reach Asian countries like India while the same device may hit Europe as Mi Watch Lite. This is mere speculation right now, so digest this info with a pinch of salt.
Mi Watch Lite / Redmi Watch specs
Thanks to information from the FCC listing, we know what to expect from the Mi Watch Lite. The device packs a square-shaped screen with a 2.5D curved effect. The body has a Matte finish. Obviously, it comes with detachable straps made of TPU material. It also has a rounded-rectangle dial on the right side.
The new smartwatch will come in multiple colors just like the Chinese Redmi Watch. Among the starting colorways, we expect Black, Cherry Pink, Needle Green, Blue Ink, and Ivory. The Redmi Watch / Mi Watch Lite comes with a 1.4-inch display had has 323 pixels per inch. Among the features, users can expect Auto-Brightness and a 230mAh battery that charges via 5W charging.
Among the smart features, you can expect the usual set of health tracking features. It has 24 hours of heart rate tracking, sleep tracking, and sedentary monitoring.
Xiaomi has the entire month of December to release the new smartwatch in Europe. However, it can be released only in the next year due to the second wave of COVID-19 affecting countries in Europe.
The Redmi Watch is sold for 299 yuan($45.47) in China. We expect a similar price in International markets.
