Apple took a bold step when it removed the charger from the iPhone 12 package. Users, in general, experienced this moment quite calmly, but in the industry, many people laughed at Apple, including Samsung. At the same time, there were rumors on the Web that the Koreans themselves would not mind excluding chargers from the box of their next flagships – the Galaxy S21. And now the rumors have been confirmed.
Samsung Galaxy S21 will not come with a charger or headphones
The confirmation came not from an insider, but from an entirely official body of Anatel – the state agency of the Brazilian Ministry of Communications. Basically, it is the same local regulator as TENAA in China or FCC in the USA. Certification documents issued for smartphones with part numbers SM-G991B / DS (Galaxy S21), SM-G996B / DS (Galaxy S21 +) and SM-G998B / DS (Galaxy S21 Ultra) state that there is no charger or headphones.
Also, the documents indicate the battery capacities of smartphones:
- EB-BG991ABY 4000 mAh (Galaxy S21)
- EB-BG996ABY 4800 mAh (Galaxy S21 +)
- EB-BG998ABY 5000 mAh (Galaxy S21 Ultra)
Recall that the official premiere of the Samsung Galaxy S21 will take place on January 14th. Sales are likely to start at the end of January.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 will be slightly cheaper than the Galaxy S20
It’s not often that there is good news that the next generation of smartphones will be cheaper than the current ones. And it is doubly pleasant when we are not talking about entry-level models, but about the flagships. We are talking about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphones.
According to a Korean source, the cost of Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphones will decrease relative to Galaxy S20 smartphones. For example, the base Galaxy S21 is expected to be priced in the $850 to $900 range. Given that the cheapest Galaxy S20 at the start of sales cost $1000. The Galaxy S21+ will drop in price within the same range: $ 1050-1100 instead of $1200. Finally, the cost of the top version of the Galaxy S21 Ultra will be in the range of $1250-1300 versus $1400, which was asked for the base Galaxy S20 Ultra in the USA (in Europe, this model debuted with a price of 1350 euros).
And although the source does not claim that the price cut will actually take place, events may well develop according to the following scenario. Firstly, this will allow Samsung to take a decent market share from Huawei, which is in a deep crisis, and secondly, it will compete more with the super successful iPhone 12.
Corresponding to the context of this news are rumors that Samsung’s future flagship with a flexible screen – Galaxy Z Fold 3 – will not rise in price. Despite the fact that both the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 will certainly have better characteristics. So, they will definitely use the just announced top platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G.
