Redmi will release its latest flagship, Redmi K40 series, in a few day’s time, specifically February 25th. Over the past few weeks, there have been many official teasers of this smartphone. However, none of these teasers show the design or appearance of this device. Now, we have the first official teaser that shows the rear (camera) design of this phone.
Redmi took to its official Weibo handle today to reveal the information. From the image, we can see that the Redmi K40 uses a round corner design. It uses a matrix design with a triple camera setup in the matrix. Two of the sensors are symmetrical and large while the third camera in between them is small. To the right of the small camera, there is a small circle. We do not know the use of this sensor for now. From previous reports, this device will come with a 108MP main sensor.
Recently, the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro got 3C certification and also passed through TENAA. From the listing information, the Redmi K40 series uses the dimension 163.7 × 76.4 × 7.8 mm and its thickness is 7.8 mm. This smartphone will also come with a 4,500 mAh battery.
Last month, Lu Weibing announced last month that the machine will use the Snapdragon 888 processor and its starting price will be 2999 yuan ($464). According to reports, this price will be for a high-end version and there will be three models. The latest speculation claims that the low model will cost less than 2,000 yuan ($310). The Redmi K40 series will have at least two models – perhaps Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro.
Previous leaks reveal that the top version will use a 108MP main camera. This will be Redmi’s first smartphone with a 108MP camera. Furthermore, recent information shows that the low version will use the Snapdragon 870 processor. Furthermore, this smartphone will come with a 4000 mAh battery but no information on the charging capacity. This phone will also use LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 flash memory.
In addition, the Redmi K40 series will be equipped with a Samsung E4 material OLED display and will support a 120Hz refresh rate. According to Xiaomi, this “may be the most expensive straight screen in the industry”. The recent leak shows that this device will come with a 6.81-inch display with a resolution of 3200 x 1440 (2K). There are reports that the Redmi K40 series may use the same panel as the Xiaomi Mi 11.
