Xiaomi will release three flagship tablets running Snapdragon SoCs

Reliable sources report that the Chinese company Xiaomi, one of the world’s largest suppliers of smartphones, has planned to announce several tablets this year.

Earlier, Xiaomi co-founder and CEO Lei Jun said that the company is designing a new Mi Pad series tablet. It has now become known that there will be three high-end tablets.

We are talking about tablets with the codenames Nabu, Enuma and Elish. All of them will receive the Android operating system with a proprietary MIUI add-on.

We know that the new products will be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8-Series SoCs. So, the Enuma and Elish tablets will be equipped with an SM8250 processor; it can be a Snapdragon 865, 865+ or 870 chip. The Nabu version will receive a product with the designation SM8150; under which a Snapdragon 855, 855+ or 860 processor can be hidden.

All computers will be have a high-quality WQXGA display with an aspect ratio of 16:10; and a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Nabu is will have a screen size of 10.97 inches diagonally.

Also, Enuma and Elish are variant of the same gadget. The first model will provide support for 4G LTE / 5G cellular communications, the second will not. The official presentation of the new products may take place in the coming months.

Gizchina News of the week

Xiaomi will present MIUI 13 as early as next month, if rumors are correct

Despite the fact that the spread of MIUI 12.5 is progressing rather slowly, Xiaomi is already preparing to introduce MIUI 13. We recently reported that a fresh version of the proprietary interface will be presented on June 25th. It is quite logical that MIUI 13 will initially be launched in China, and only after some time will its global version be released.

Unfortunately, there is no reliable information yet about what innovations users will see in the new Xiaomi user interface. However, recently it became known that the Chinese company is working on the function of expanding the RAM due to the built-in storage – something like a paging file. As a rule, the launch of new MIUI versions coincides with the presentation of new Xiaomi smartphones. We speculate that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will debut alongside MIUI 13.

As a reminder, Xiaomi is now busy distributing MIUI 12.5. At the moment, it managed to update the Chinese versions of smartphones, but the version of the firmware for the global market is not spreading as quickly as users would like. For example, just the other day, Xiaomi launched a set of beta testers for testing MIUI 12.5 on Poco smartphones. Testing usually takes quite a long time, so stable versions of MIUI 12.5 on Poco are unlikely to be expected in the next couple of months.
