After a series of rumors, speculations, and official teasers, Honor held a new product launch conference today. The company’s newĀ spokesperson, Wei Xiaolong, unveiled the new Honor Play 5 smartphone. This is a mid-range device that the company considers a “smartphone for all”. According to the launch information, this smartphone has two models but the starting price is 2099 yuan ($327).Ā
The Honor Play 5 uses a 6.53-inch wide-color gamut OLED true color screen. This display comes with an ultra-thin straight-edge design and a matte middle frame. This design not only highlights the edges and corners, it also enhances the overall texture. With a thickness of 7.46 mm and a weight of 179g, this device is one of the thinnest and lightest devices on the market. The available colour options are Icelandic illusion, Titanium Silver, and Magic Mid Night Black.
Under the hood, the Honor Play 5 comes with a MediaTekĀ Dimensity 800U processor. Furthermore, this smartphone comes with a single-cell dual-circuit fast charging design and supports 66W super-fast charging. According to Honor, this device can get up to 60% battery in just 15 minutes. Although the company did not mention the battery capacity, it is less than 4000 mAh. Thus, if you are looking for a smartphone with a big battery, this should not be your choice. However, the charging power also gives it an advantage.Ā

While there have been several reports on the Honor Play 5, the Honor Play 5T was under wraps. This smartphone (Honor Play 5T) comes with a UnisocĀ TigerĀ T610 which is a 12nm SoC. This device also comes with a large 5000 mAh battery that supportsĀ 22.5W fast charging.
Furthermore, this device uses a 6.5-inch high-definition full screen and a powerful sound with Honor Histen sound. It has just one model (8GB+128GB) and the starting price is 1199 yuan ($187). This device will be available in Aurora Blue, Titanium Silver, and Magic Mid Night Black. It will go on sale at 0:00 on June 1st.
