Samsung is gearing up to introduce its new foldable smartphones – Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 – on August 11. Ahead of the release, the Galaxy Z Fold3 had renders and full specifications leaked. Now, it’s time for the clamshell-like smartphone to have the very same treatment. A new report from the folks at WinFuture discloses the complete spec-sheet and design renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3. Without further ado, let’s dive into the specifications of the upcoming flip-smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 specifications
The new Galaxy Z Flip3 will bring refreshed specifications when compared to its predecessor. The new clamshell foldable devices will come with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ display sporting an unusual 2,640 x 1,080 pixels resolution. This is a Dynamic AMOLED display and sports a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and also offers a 120 Hz of refresh rate. The device packs a 1.9-inch cover display with 260 x 512 pixels resolution.
Under the hood, the Z Flip3 sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and is paired with 8 GB of RAM. Storage-wise, it will be available in variants with 128 GB and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Despite the powerhouse, the device comes with a somewhat lackluster battery that offers only 3,300mAh of capacity. We believe that passing through an entire day with this device won’t be so easy. There are many challenges in doing clamshell-like foldable smartphones and battery sizes certainly are among them. Thankfully, the device is said t sport 25W fast-charging contrary to previous rumors suggesting just 15W. It’s not on par with what Chinese firms are offering but is better than nothing.

In terms of optics, the Galaxy Z Flip3 comes with a dual-camera setup sporting a 12 MP primary camera. It comes with Optical Image Stabilization. There is also a secondary 12 MP snapper for ultra-wide angle shots. For selfies and video calls, the device has a 10 MP camera. Interestingly, the handset comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and comes with stereo speakers and IPX8 certification for water resistance.
Galaxy Z Flip3 is coming in three colorways
The Galaxy Z Flip3 will be quite lightweight with just 183 grams. It will come in three distinct colorways – Phantom Black, Cream, and Lavender. It will run Android 11 straight out of the box with One UI 3.1 running on top. The Galaxy Z Flip3 is said to be cheaper than the Z Fold3 and that makes a lot of sense as the device is less appealing in terms of specifications.
