Oppo F19s Special Edition to launch in India soon

Oppo F19s

Oppo has just unveiled the Oppo F19, F19 Pro, and the F19 Pro+ smartphones in India earlier this year. Now, the company is gearing up to introduce a new smartphone in the F19 series that carries the Oppo F19s moniker. The new report comes from 91Mobile which cites industry sources. As per the report, Oppo will be launching a special edition smartphone in India during the festive season. Unfortunately, despite the device’s name, not many details are known about it.

There are two possibilities, the first one is that we’re looking for an entirely new smartphone. The second is that the device will just be a Special Edition without many differences from the standard Oppo F19.

Oppo F19S possible specifications based on Oppo F19

The vanilla smartphone packs a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. Unfortunately, this panel is limited with a 60 Hz refresh rate. It’s quite bezel-less with a 90.8% screen-to-body ratio, and a punch-hole at the top left which houses a selfie snapper.

Under the hood, the Oppo F19 packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset. We have to say that this platform feels a little outdated at this point, but it’s hard to guess which chipset can replace it, especially when its direct successor the Snapdragon 678 is suffering from shortages. The processing power may be a point of differentiation for both devices, but we can’t confirm this right now. Anyway, the vanilla F19 comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage. Users can further expand this amount via the use of a micro SD card slot.

In terms of optics, the Oppo F19 features a triple-camera setup. It comprises a 48 MP primary camera, a 2 MP depth-sensing module, and a 2 MP macro snapper. This can be something that Oppo can repeat with its Oppo F19s. For selfies and video calls, the device packs a 16 MP selfie snapper.

In terms of software, the handset will run Android 11 straight out of the box with ColorOS 11.1. The vanilla draws its powers from a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support. The connectivity features the device offer include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. The handset also has an in-display fingerprint scanner. In terms of dimensions, the device measures 160.3 x 73.8 x 8 mm and weighs 175 grams.

We expect Oppo to start teasing the Oppo F19S in the coming days. For now, we’ll need to wait for further details about it.
