GoPro Hero 10 Black Leak Reveals Major Upgrades, New Design & More

GoPro Hero 10 Black Leak

A major GoPro Hero 10 Black leak has shed light on the upgrades, enhancements, and other details about the upcoming action camera. The GoPro Hero 9 Black was unveiled almost a year ago in India. Now, it is that time of the year when GoPro appears to be gearing up to announce its next-gen Hero action camera. Back in 2018, the American tech company took the wraps off its entry-level GoPro Hero camera dubbed “Hero” to lure casual customers.

The Hero 9 Black action camera retailed for INR 49,999 (about $680) in India at launch. It brought a new design, coupled with a front display, and even supported an add-on super ultrawide camera. Regrettably, the aforesaid leak suggests that the GoPro Hero 10 will not boast a radically overhauled design. However, the camera will be loaded with awe-inspiring features, and offer a wide range of options to the users.

GoPro Hero 10 Leak Hints At Notable Upgrades

If a report from WinFuture and Roland Quandt is anything to go by, Hero 10 will be bringing a lot to the table. The publication shared some official-looking renders of the upcoming camera. These renders show the new camera in full glory. Moreover, they shed light on some of its key specifications. The Hero 10 action cam will sport a slightly larger 23MP camera than its predecessor. The Hero 9 came with a 20MP camera.

Furthermore, the sensor is capable of recording 5.3K videos at 60fps and 4K videos at 120fps. This is a notable improvement considering that the Hero 9 delivers lower frame rates. Aside from that, the Hero 10 supports 2.7K resolution at 240fps so that you can shoot slow-motion videos at very high resolution. On top of that, the new camera packs the new GP2 processor. It features the improved HyperSmooth 4.0 stabilization technology that provides better stabilization, according to GoPro marketing materials that were leaked recently.

The TimeWarp 3.0 technology that expedites and controls time-lapse videos isn’t improved. Moreover, the live streaming quality will remain 180p. The new camera retains a slew of other features. It offers RAW photos, webcam mode, HDR, and SuperPhoto support. Moreover, it is waterproof up to 10 meters (33 feet). The only notable change in the physical appearance of the new camera is the blue lettering seen on the front casing.

Launch Date, Price & Availability

Quandt and WinFuture did not divulge details about the price of the Hero 10 Black. Likewise, its launch details are scarce. However, GoPro’s launch patterns for its Hero series of cameras are something to go by. The Hero 10 Black could launch sometime next month. The company has adopted the same launch timeline for Hero 8 Black, as well as the Hero 9 Black cameras.
