Realme GT Neo2 renders and specs have been revealed

Realme GT Neo2

Back in March, Realme started its Realme GT series with the Snapdragon 888-powered Realme GT and a cheaper Dimensity 1200-powered Realme GT Neo. The Neo was a more cost-effective option but that offered a flagship-grade performance. The device reached the Indian market as Realme X7 Max 5G. The original device isn’t very old, but Realme is already considering a sequel for it. Today, the Vice President of Realme China confirmed that the company is working on a follow-up and while the official didn’t go further than that, the OnLeaks and Digit.in have renders and specifications to share.

According to the leaked info, the Realme GT Neo2 will flaunt a 6.62-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. The handset’s display offers a 120 Hz of refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. Apparently, the biggest change here is in the size of the panel as the original Neo had a smaller 6.43-inch Display. In addition to the display, the leak also confirms Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0 straight out of the box. If we take the last year’s comparison, Realme will take until 2022 to launch the first smartphones with Android 12.

Realme GT Neo2 specifications

In counterpart to the first Neo, the Realme GT Neo2 will switch Dimensity 1200 for a Snapdragon 870 SoC. This chipset is not as powerful as the Snapdragon 888 SoC but has certain advantages over the Dimensity 1200 SoC. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC is also present in the Realme GT Explorer Master Edition.

A couple of weeks ago, we reported about Realme’s VP discarding the Realme GT Master Explorer edition launch in India. At that time, we thought it had something to do with the OnePlus 9 RT. But apparently, the reason is that Realme is already preparing the Realme GT Neo2 for the Indian market and it will be slightly similar to the Master Explorer.

The phone’s standard variant comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage. However, we can expect other variants to appear soon with possibly more RAM And Storage. Of course, Realme should bring its Dynamic RAM expansion with this device.

The Realme GT Neo2 will share the same camera setup as other GT smartphones. The primary camera is a 64 MP unit, while the second is an 8 MP ultrawide, and finally, there is a 2 MP macro shooter. The selfie snapper is a 16 MP camera and the very same left-aligned punch-hole that Realme always uses. The render reveals a unique camera bump for the Realme GT series with split dual-LED flash.

Those who enjoy good battery life will say welcome to the Realme GT Neo2. The device will have the biggest yet battery for the lineup with a 5,000 mAh capacity. It will certainly come with fast charging, and we can’t help but believe that it comes with the 65W fast-chargin present in all other GT-series smartphones. Unfortunately, it seems that this variant is dropping the 3.5 mm headphone jack and that’s a big surprise as other devices in the series come with the old analog port.

When will it be released?

For now, there is no official word on the Realme GT Neo2 release. However, judging by the number of details leaked we assume that the device is close.
