Redmi 10 Prime budget smartphone will hit the store shelves in India soon backed by a robust battery, and a host of other features. The upcoming phone has been floating around the rumor mill for a long time. Redmi India debunked speculations surrounding its launch date last month, confirming that the phone will launch on September 3 in the country during a new product launch conference. The company has been touting the upcoming handset as an “All Round Super Star.”

The company has brought the Redmi 10 Prime into the international markets with the Redmi 10 moniker. The device packs a MediaTek Helio G88 SoC and features a 90Hz IPS LCD. Aside from that, the internal version of the Redmi 10 comes with a 5,000mAh battery. However, the company will be powering up the Redmi 10 Prime with a slightly bigger battery. Redmi will be using a robust 6000mAh battery for its new phone.

Noted tipsters have been divulging some key details about the upcoming phone. Aside from that, the company did not shy away from shedding light on some vital information. The Global VP of Xiaomi, Manu Kumar Jain revealed details about the processor of the smartphone via a tweet. According to Jain, the upcoming phone will pack the same MediaTek Helio G88 chip as the Redmi 10 smartphone. However, he pointed out that the phone will be a significant upgrade compared to last year’s Redmi 9 Prime and Redmi 9 Power. Now, Jain has taken to social media again to share another teaser.

This time around, the official has tweeted about the battery capacity of the Redmi 10 Prime smartphone. Jain claims that the phone will be backed by a 6,000mAh battery. However, it will be the lightest phone to house a massive 6,000mAh cell. Aside from that, the teaser suggests that the phone will support both, standard fast charging and reverse fast charging. The teaser gives us a glimpse of the front panel, which seems to have a punch-hole design and slim bezels. While Jain remained mum on other key specs, earlier leaks have already revealed some vital information.

The new Redmi phone with 6GB RAM+128GB ROM will go up for sale in some regions. The base model with 4GB of RAM and offers 64GB of internal storage capacity retails for $179, which converts roughly to about INR 13,300. There is a 4GB RAM+128GB ROM model that retails for $199 (about INR 14,800). Aside from that, there’s a 6GB RAM+128GB ROM variant that will set you back $199 (about INR 14,800). According to Digit, the Redmi 10 Prime variant with 4GB RAM+64GB ROM will carry a price tag of INR 11,999 (about $164).

The phone sports a 6.5-inch LCD with a Full HD+ resolution and an adaptive refresh rate. On top of that, the display can switch between 90, 60, and even 45Hz. The front-mounted hole punch cutout houses the 8MP selfie camera. The rear panel features a quad camera setup including a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a couple of 2MP depth and macro sensors. The fingerprint scanner has been moved to the side, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack and dual speakers. Furthermore, the phone runs on Android 11 OS with MIUI 12.5 on top.
