The release of a new Snapdragon flagship processor usually makes Android manufacturers race to the finish line. There is always this desire to be the first to launch a smartphone will the processor. According to the latest report, the first batch of Snapdragon 898 models will be officially unveiled in mid-December. Chinese mainstream manufacturers will also follow up and launch new models as soon as possible. Also, the first model to use this chip will likely be the Xiaomi Mi 12 series. However, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series remains in contention.
Today, popular Weibo leakster, @DCS hinted at the latest key specification of the Xiaomi Mi 12. According to him, Xiaomi’s iterative model will use a 100W fast charging solution. Furthermore, while the Xiaomi Mi 12 will use a 4700 mAh± battery, the high model will use a 5000 mAh± battery. In addition to the regular model, the Pro model will also use a 4700mAh± battery. This means that the 5000 mAh± will be exclusive to the Ultra models.
This new flagship will come with dual-core materials and design schemes. This can increase the energy density to a certain extent and make the 5000mAh± thinner. It will be very cool to have a thin smartphone with a huge 5000 mAh± battery. However, this will not make the weight any better.
Xiaomi Mi 12 – more speculations
In terms of ID design, the Xiaomi Mi 12 series flagship model will also adopt an appearance scheme similar to that of Xiaomi Civi. The front will use a hyperboloid display with an ultra-narrow bezel. Furthermore, the Xiaomi Mi 12 series will use a ceramic back shell which is very attractive. This build offers a texture, look and feel that glass material does not offer.
In the camera department, this upcoming digital series from Xiaomi will use a 50MP main camera. This is contrary to earlier reports that this smartphone will come with a 200MP Samsung main camera. However, there are reports that this 50MP main camera will adopt an ultra-large bottom solution, supporting 1920fps super slow motion. This smartphone will also come with a 50MP high-quality ultra-wide-angle lens. The periscope telephoto is also a 50MP high-quality lens. This means that the Xiaomi Mi 12 series will use a 50MP triple rear camera setup.
Under the hood, this smartphone will use Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 898 SoC. Furthermore, this device will come with an LTPO adaptive refresh rate screen. This feature will realize an adaptive refresh rate adjustment function between 1 – 120Hz. This feature will also bring an automatic adjustment of the display. This means that when a user activates a high-demanding game, the refresh rate of the display automatically sets to 120Hz. However, when the user is on a social app, it reduces the refresh rate significantly. This will ultimately help in the power consumption of the device.
