A new version of the Tecno Spark 8 smartphone has been launched in India with a reasonable price tag and sufficiently good specifications. The new phone is a slightly overhauled version of the Spark 8 that arrived in India in September. On November 10, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer unveiled the 3GB RAM+32GB storage variant in the country. As mentioned, this newly launched model has some minor differences from the original Spark 8.
Aside from offering different RAM and storage options, the new version of Tecno Spark 8 sports a bigger display. Moreover, the new variant comes in a noticeably thinner form factor. However, some aspects including the battery capacity, selfie camera, and color options are still the same. According to the company, their latest offering adopts a metal coding design that gives the handset a premium feel. Last month, key details about the Tecno Spark 8P surfaced online, suggesting that the phone will sport a 6.6-inch display.

The new Tecno Spark 8 model that ships with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage capacity will set you back INR 9,299 in India. The phone has already gone up for grabs on various retail stores. Furthermore, you can choose between Turquoise Cyan, Iris Purple, and Atlantic Blue color options. Alternatively, you can go for the Tecno Spark 8 2GB RAM model that offers 64GB of built-in storage and carries a price tag of INR 7,999.

The tweaked version of the Tecno Spark 8 sports a 6.56-inch Dot Notch display that offers HD+ (720×1,612 pixels) resolution. Moreover, the phone supports a 20.15:9 aspect ratio and delivers a peak brightness of 480 nits. Unlike the 2GB RAM model, the new version packs an octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 gaming SoC under the hood. To recall, the 2GB RAM variant uses a MediaTek Helio A25 SoC, instead. The Helio G25 gaming SoC clocks at 2.0GHz.

According to the tech specs mentioned on the company’s official website, the Tecno Spark 8 new variant houses a dual rear camera setup. This comprises a 16MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture. Moreover, the setup includes an AI camera with an f/2.0 aperture, along with a quad-LED flash. In terms of features, the rear cameras support Slow Motion, Panorama, Time-lapse, Filters, and AR Shot. On top of that, the rear-mounted cameras offer HDR, AI Portrait, Smile Shot, and AI Beauty features.
The new version has a built-in storage capacity of 32GB of eMMC 5.1. Furthermore, this can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card slot. For connectivity, the phone offers a 3.5mm headphone jack, Micro-USB, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and 4G LTE. Aside from that, the handset features a myriad of useful sensors. These include a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and accelerometer. The fingerprint sensor is available at the back for easier access.
