Vivo Y15A launched with Helio P35 and 5000mAh battery

Vivo has just released a new smartphone dubbed Vivo Y15A in the Philippines. Interestingly, at the same time, it has released the Vivo Y15s (2021) in Indonesia. The Vivo Y15A offers specifications like a waterdrop notch display. The handset comes with MediaTek Helio P35 and a 5,000mAh. Both the handsets are made for the low-end segment but are better than some extreme low-cost options.

The Vivo Y15A measures 163.96 x 75.2 x 8.28 mm and 1,789 grams. The device flaunts a 6.51-inch IPS LCD screen with an HD+ resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The handset has a waterdrop notch at the top with an 8 MP front-facing camera.

Moving around to the back, the handset has a dual-camera setup. It comprises a primary 13 MP camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor. There is also an LED flash to help with low-light environments. In terms of software, the device has a FunTouch OS 11.1 based on Android 11. For now, there is no word if any of these two low-end handsets will receive an Android 12 update with FuntouchOS 12 on top.

Under the hood, the Vivo Y15A packs a MediaTek Helio P35 chip. This chipset is quite old at this point with eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at up to 2.3 GHz. It comes alongside 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of Internal Storage. The device draws powers from a 5,000 mAh battery, which supports 10 W charging support. The reason behind this limited charging speed is the micro USB port.

Other specifications for the handset include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, microSD, a micro USB slot, a side-facing fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

The Vivo Y51A costs PHP 7,999 which comes just around the $160 price tag for indirect conversion. The device is available in the Philippines with Water Green and Mystic Blue colorways. When it comes to the Vivo Y15s (2021), the device is now available in Indonesia with the same colorways. The price is set at IDR 1,899,000.
