Realme UltraDART 100W-200W charging announced, GT Neo3 packs 150W charging

Realme UltraDART

After much anticipation and teasers, Realme has officially disclosed its new UltraDART charging technology. The next evolution of this architecture will enable speeds ranging from 100W to 200W. So, with this announcement, Realme basically states that it’s ready for 200W charging, but we shouldn’t be waiting for a device with it in the near future. To confirm this, the company revealed that the first smartphone to utilize the UltraDART Charging Architecture (UDCA) will be the Realme GT Neo3. The smartphone that is gearing up to be one of the most interesting cost-effective flagships of 2022, will come with a super-fast 150W charging. It sits right in the middle of this 100W to 200W rate.

Interestingly, the new UltraDART sets a new standard for Realme smartphones. To recall, some of the company’s current flagships have only 65W. The company officially offers 18W, 33W, and 65W to its smartphones, but that may change pretty soon. While the current Realme GT 2 Pro will get a full charge in around 35 minutes, the upcoming Realme GT Neo3 will charge much faster.

Realme’s goal with the new technology is to enable 0 to 50 percent charging in just minutes. To get there, Realme uses multiple boost charge pumps to increase the current. Despite the crazily high speeds, the temperature shouldn’t be worrisome for its users. The company brings a Temperature Management Algorithm that ensures that the battery temperature will remain under 43°C (110°F) while charging. The system will ensure that amount even if the user is simultaneously pushing the chipset to its edge with a demanding game or bringing video for prolonged periods.

In the long term, the high-quality lithium batteries will retain 80 percent of their capacity after over 1,000 complete charge cycles, thanks to the Ultra Battery Protection System. Again, the technology will be available to mass consumers soon as the Realme GT Neo3 is close to entering mass production.

Realme GT Neo3 will come with a 150W charging

The Realme GT Neo3 is not yet official, but that may happen pretty soon. There are continuous leaks involving this handset. More recently, we got a design that renders that revealed it will be the first Realme smartphone with a center-aligned punch-hole. The flagship will bring the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 which basically offers the same level of performance as the Snapdragon 888 SoC.

The new technology also says a lot about future Realme smartphones. We may see the 200W rate on future Realme flagships, and even the 100W on other intermediary models. Realme has always been generous with fast-charging tech. After all, the mid-range Realme 7 Pro was the company’s first smartphone with 65W charging.
