Vivo is gearing up to launch its first flexible display smartphone dubbed the X Fold. The presentation of the flagship foldable device will take place on April 11, but many of the characteristics of the device were revealed a few days before due to the image of the advertising stand published on the Internet.

Vivo X Fold features an 8-inch 2K internal display with a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz. The 6.53-inch external display supports Full HD+ resolution and refresh rates up to 120Hz.

The “heart” of the smartphone was the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which complements the LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash drive. The volume is not specified. The power source is a 4600 mAh rechargeable battery with support for wired charging up to 66 W and wireless up to 50 W. The Android 12 operating system is used as a software platform. The built-in Wi-Fi 6 module provides a wireless connection, and an NFC module is provided for contactless payments.

The camera of the device is formed from four sensors, the main of which is a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GN5 sensor. It is paired with a 48MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 114° field of view, a 12MP portrait lens with 2x zoom, and a 5MP telephoto lens with 60x digital zoom.

More detailed information about the device and the retail price of the smartphone were not announced. Obviously, this will happen during the official presentation, which will take place in a few days.

Vivo is also preparing to introduce its new X80 flagship line of smartphones. And recently information about the X80 and X80 Pro models appeared on the Web. The X80 Pro+ is also expected.

Vivo X80 and X80 Pro will be quite similar. Both will be based on MediaTek Dimesnity 9000 SoC, that is, they will be very powerful devices. Their screens will be similar, but not identical. It will be a 6.78-inch Super AMOLED Samsung E5 curved panel with support for 120 Hz; and a peak brightness of 1500 cd/m2, but the younger model will have Full HD + resolution; while the bigger one will have WQHD+. The X80 Pro model will also receive an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner.

RAM will be up to 12 GB, flash memory – up to 512 GB. The smaller model should receive a battery with a capacity of 4500 mAh, the bigger one will have a 4700 mAh battery, while in both cases the charging power will be 80 watts.
