Vivo is gearing up to introduce new Vivo S-series smartphones in China. The company has already unveiled the Vivo S15e, and now is preparing the terrain for the Vivo S15 and Vivo S15 Pro. These devices may replace the Vivo S12 and Vivo S12 Pro in China. The company has dropped a couple of teasers as the new lineup is coming on May 19. More and more details are being disclosed, so we don’t know if the company will have much to reveal at the keynote. Today, the Vivo S15 Pro variant decided to pay a visit to the Geekbench benchmark.
The listing on Geekbench reveals some key details regarding the performance of these devices. It’s not much of a surprise to see a chipset that falls in line with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. This device has been confirmed before and is taking the helm at both the Vivo S12 and Vivo S12 Pro. Geekbench still serves well to confirm the availability of a variant with 12 GB of RAM. It also confirms Android 12 as the underlying Android version. Given to the date that is hardly a surprise, but there are still companies launching Android 11 smartphones, so we still need to tell you when one launches a phone with Android 12. The phone will likely run OriginOS Ocean in China and Funtouch OS 12 whenever it escapes the domestic market.
The Vivo S15 Pro scores 967 points in the Single-Core tasks and 3,011 in the Multi-Core department. Worth noting, that while Geekbench lists the 12 GB of RAM variant, we also know there is an 8 GB version coming as well. Other details of the phone have already leaked.
Vivo S15 and Vivo S15 Pro specifications
As per the leaks, the Vivo S15 Pro will ship with a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. There will also be a punch-hole cutout at the top for the selfie snapper. Moving around to the back, the phone has a 108 MP main camera. Other details, unfortunately, are not known yet.
The vanilla Vivo S15 is touted to come with a 6.62-inch OLED screen with a 90 Hz or 120 Hz refresh rate. The performance will also come from the excellent Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. The phone will draw its powers from a 4,580 mAh battery with 80 W fast-charging. The Vivo S15 Pro will be thinner with a smaller 4,400 mAh battery but the same 80 W fast-charging. The devices will come in Blue, Black, and Gold colorways.
The company has already teased the design of the phones through its Weibo handle. The device has significant changes in comparison to the Vivo S12 series.
