Back in the last month, Oppo started a limited Android 12 rollout for the Oppo Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro in Indonesia and India. We can say that the company had a very good performance, after all, in just one month it’s already rolling out the stable Color OS 12 builds for the smartphones. The stable build means that Oppo managed, or at least believes, to fix all the remaining bugs that usually come with the early access build. It’s remarkable to see the Oppo Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro getting the update, after all, these are 2020 smartphones. According to the official announcement post on Oppo Community, the upgrade is live for the following models:

  • OPPO Reno 3 (Indonesia)
  • Reno 3 (China)
  • OPPO Reno 3 Pro (India & Indonesia)

The Color OS 12 update will soon reach the devices. Worth noting that the Oppo Reno 3 Pro Chinese variant has already received the update and is already running on the latest Android 12 firmware. In order to be eligible for the update, make sure your Oppo Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro (India / Indonesia variants) are on firmware version C.23 or above. In case, you have a Chinese variant is still on Android 11, make sure you’re running firmware version C.14. If you meet this requirement, then the update will come over the air for your handset.

Users will need to navigate to Settings > Software Updates to download and install the update. The OTA software builds for these smartphones are landing in batches. Therefore, some users will get it immediately. Others, however, will have to wait a few days until the update arrives.

Oppo Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro specifications

The global Oppo Reno 3 packs the MediaTek Helio P90 with a PowerVR GM9446. The phone flaunts a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels of resolution. The phone was originally launched with Android 10 and ColorOS 7. The phone has up to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage. The device has a Quad-Camera setup. It packs a primary 48 MP main camera with PDAF, there is also a 13 MP telephoto shooter, an 8 MP ultrawide shooter, and a 2 MP monochrome shooter. The device also has a 44 MP selfie shooter. The phone has a 4,025 mAh battery with 30 W fast-charging.

The global Reno 3 Pro packs the MediaTek Helio P95 instead. It flaunts a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution. The phone has up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Storage. This one has a more advanced camera setup with a 64 MP main camera. It brings the same 4,025 mAh battery with 30 W fast charging.
