Samsung‘s foldable handsets are ideal for power users, because to their huge screens, which are ideal for multitasking. To improve the multitasking experience even further, the business has added various elements into One UI. According to a fresh report, Samsung’s next Galaxy Z Flip4 and Fold4 will make running apps in split-screen mode easier than ever.

According to the leaker @UniverseIce, Samsung’s next foldables will have a “swipe for split screen” functionality. His post is sparse on information, but it suggests that the devices will have a motion that would allow users to start apps in split screen mode with a single swipe. To open an app in split screen or windowed mode on the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Flip3, utilize the Multi window tray or the Recents applications menu. On Samsung’s next foldables, a gesture will drastically speed up this process and make multitasking simpler.

Samsung isn’t the first company to include a gesture like this in their smartphones. Oppo and Vivo, both owned by BBK, use a similar gesture to swiftly access apps in split screen on their devices. To activate split screen mode on Oppo’s foldable Find N, slide down on the unfurled screen with two fingers. A three-finger swipe-up motion on its other smartphones achieves the same purpose. On Vivo phones, a three-finger swipe-down gesture activates split screen mode.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and Flip4 might make multitasking simpler with a new gesture

The gesture is likely to be included in One UI 4.1.1, which is slated to appear in Samsung’s foldable range in 2022. This opens the possibility of a software update bringing the capability to the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Flip3 in the future.

According to the latest rumors, the upcoming flagship Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 will be available in a 1TB flash edition.

The latest Fold3 model comes in two storage capacities: 256GB and 512GB. This quantity is sufficient for most individuals, but not everyone. Furthermore, because Fold models are becoming more essential for Samsung; it makes sense to provide such a device with a large quantity of flash memory. The Fold3 doesn’t have a microSD card slot, and the Fold4 will not get one either.

There are still just a handful of smartphones on the market with 1 TB of flash memory; and even then, they are usually limited editions that aren’t accessible in all areas. In fact, it’s uncertain if the previous version of Fold4 will be available on the worldwide market.

In late August or early September, the Galaxy Z Fold4 will launch. It will run the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC; and will come with a slightly different aspect ratio on both displays than the existing model.
