Privacy has been a recurring theme in recent years in the smartphone markets. After all, we saw many scandals exploding involving big companies that were stealing user data. For that reason, the rise of privacy-focused smartphones isn’t a big surprise. Osom is a privacy-focused tech company that has been working on the Osom OV1 smartphone with a focus on security. The device is being developed by the team of engineers that developed the Essential PH-1. The device’s focus was privacy, but now, it seems to be also migrating to the blockchain segment. The device’s identity is now changed to Solana Saga.

Osom states that the OV1 will now be a blockchain smartphone by Solana Mobile called Saga. Despite the new involvement with Solana, the phone still comes from Osom. The Solana Saga will provide deep integration with Solana’s blockchain. It will be capable of making transactions in web3 and will support holding digital assets including tokens and NFTs.
