According to DSCC’s Ross Young and Jeff Pu of Haitong International Securities, Apple is developing the Apple Watch Series 8 with a larger display.Ā Last October, Ross Young said the Watch Series 8 would be available in three display sizes. Today, Ross Young further reveals that the additional display size of the Apple Watch Series 8 is 1.99 inches.Ā In addition, analyst Jeff Pu mentioned that Apple supplierĀ Luxshare Precision will be the “sole supplier” of the high-end 2-inch Watch Series 8 this year. The two sizes of the Apple Watch Series 7 are 1.691 inches and 1.901 inches. The new display size will increase by 0.089 inches, or about a 5% increase.

Apple Watch Series 8 will have a few changes

In the latest issue of the Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman highlights the new sensors for the next Apple Watch. He also talked about the future Apple Watch SE 2 and a ruggedized version of the Apple Watch for extreme sports.

Gizchina News of the week

Gurman said that other hardware changes to the Apple Watch Series8 are “likely” to be minor. This means that the display size remains the major change in this device. The Apple Watch Series 8 was previously rumoured to use the same S6 chip as the Apple Watch Series 6. This will make it the first Apple Watch to use the same processor for the third year in a row. In addition, there are reports that both the Watch Series 8 and the new rugged version will have body temperature detection. Gurman said

The temperature detection feature won’t give you a specific reading — like a forehead or wrist thermometer —Ā but it should be able to tell if you have a feverĀ .Ā It may then suggest you see a doctor or use a thermometer to take a measurement.

The news of the new sensor on the Watch Series 8 is good, but the important point is that the feature requires approval.
