Apple will show more ads in the App Store

According to online sources, Apple intends to increase the amount of advertising shown to users of the App Store digital content store. Ads will soon appear in the Today section and on individual application pages.

According to reports, ads in the “Today” section will be displayed in large format, like other elements of this block. At the same time, they will have marks that will help to understand that this is an advertisement. Ads on individual app pages will appear below the “You might also like” box, which displays apps that are similar to the one you’re currently viewing. As with App Store search, app page ads will be in blue to distinguish them from other recommendations.

“Apple Search Ads provides opportunities for developers of all sizes to grow their business, Like our other advertising offerings, these new ad placements are built upon the same foundation—they will only contain content from apps’ approved App Store product pages, and will adhere to the same rigorous privacy standards”.

We assume that in test mode, new ad units will be available in the App Store in the near future. Recall that Apple first began showing ad content in its app store in 2016; and later began asking users for permission to display personalized ads. The emergence of new ad units indicates that Apple is looking for new ways to capitalize on the App Store; and advertising could become a more important segment of the company’s business in the future.

Apple has recently published a report on the results of the third quarter of the fiscal year 2022; which ended on June 25 for it. And it was another record quarter for the company. Revenue was $83 billion, up 2% from a year earlier. At the same time, interestingly, the revenue from sales of devices remained practically unchanged and even slightly decreased; from 63.95 to 63.36 billion dollars. But revenue from services grew from 17.5 to 19.6 billion dollars.
