Google Foldable Phone Patent Surfaces Online

The Google foldable phone has a notebook-like design and folds in half. However, the device has fairly thick bezels around the display. Also, it appears to have a crease in the middle, which is common in most newfangled foldable phones. Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold, Google foldable phone houses a front shooter in the top bezel. To recap, Galaxy Z Fold 4’s selfie camera is within the screen. Further, the patent sheds more light on the camera setup.

According to the patent description, the camera has an aperture. Moreover, it sits in the bezel of the second assembly that encompasses the flexible continuous display. Regrettably, the patent doesn’t give us a glimpse into the smartphone’s design in folded form. Nevertheless, the phone is likely to come with a cover screen for carrying out basic smartphone tasks. Also, the report suggests that the main camera sensor of the foldable phone will be similar to the Pixel 6 series. So, it could sport the iconic horizontal stripe.

Moreover, past leaks claim that the Google Pixel Notepad will sport a 5.8-inch outer display. Notably, this is shorter and wider than the outer display of the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Also, the Google foldable phone will reportedly offer a wider aspect ratio than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold. Under the hood, it will probably pack a Tensor chip. For optics, the foldable phone from Google could get a 12.2MP Sony IMX363 primary camera. Further, it is likely to house a 12MP IMX386 ultra-wide-angle lens.

Upfront, the Google foldable device will reportedly feature two 8MP IMX355s sensors for selfies. More details about the Google foldable phone are likely to pop up on the internet in the coming days.
