iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are indeed models of the iPhone 13 generation

Since the release of the iPhone 14 series last week, these four new models have been the focus of discussion, occupying the hot searches on major platforms every day.

In addition to the huge upgrade of the iPhone 14 Pro, we can say that the specs of the 14 and 14 Plus this time are tricky. Compared with the previous generation, there is almost no hardware improvement. And users have to pay more in order to get the Pro version that has something new.

Especially this year, the chip has no upgrade. And the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus continue to use the same A15 chip of the 13 Pro. Although it is a full new version, it is almost indistinguishable from the standard version of the iPhone 13.

According to Apple’s model codes released in the latest beta version of Apple’s Xcode, the iPhone 14 Pro series is confirmed as a new generation, codenamed iPhone15,2 and iPhone15,3.

The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are codenamed similar to the iPhone 13 series, namely iPhone14,7 and iPhone14,8 respectively.

That is to say, the 14 standard version is indeed the same generation model of the iPhone 13 in Apple’s internal product planning. It’s just the same old smartphones with a new name and new colors.

Gizchina News of the week

As part of its September media event, Apple recently unveiled the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. There are five additional color options for the phones: midnight, starlight, blue, purple, and red.

The main difference is that the 5.4-inch tiny basic model is no longer available. And the 14 Plus now has a massive 6.7-inch screen, the same size as the Pro Max.

The screen diagonals for the new basic model iPhone are 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively. Similar to the last most costly iPhone, the 6.7-inch model has the same size. Apple, then, is for the first time bringing the distinguishing feature of the Pro Max — the truly huge screen — to a much more accessible price point, despite the fact that it lacks all the Pro capabilities.

The 14 Plus will have the same large screen as the Pro Max and a similarly lengthy battery life. The 14 series, according to Apple, has the greatest battery life ever.

The A15 processor, a six-core model that was previously in use in the 13 Pro, powers the 14 and 14 Plus.

Beginning September 16, the iPhone 14 will be available for purchase worldwide. The Plus will follow a few weeks later, on October 7. Starting at $799 for the 14 and $899 for the 14 Plus, respectively.
