Oppo Reno 9 series basic features
All 3 products of the OPPO Reno9 series use the same 6.7-inch large screen. They have consistent and accurate colours with the same high refresh rate of 120Hz. This display also comes with a more comfortable natural dimming solution. It achieves 8192-level brightness adjustment for a more comfortable look and feel. This is good because the human eye is more sensitive to brightness in the dark. The OPPO Reno9 series supports 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming at low brightness below 90nit. This makes the strobe less noticeable. The 6.7-inch screen is equipped with a 3D hyperboloid micro-arc. It has the narrowest lower black border in the history of Reno at 2.32mm.
OPPO Reno 9 series body thickness and weight
After years of research, Reno was able to pack a big battery into a small phone. This will give the device a longer and stronger performance. The OPPO Reno9 and OPPO Reno9 Pro have a body thickness of 7.19mm. These phones also weigh 174g. For the OPPO Reno9 Pro+, it has a body thickness of 7.99mm and a weight of 192g. The 3D hyperboloid micro arc bending depth is only 1.9mm. This allows the large screen to take into account the thin and light feel.
The three models come with a front super-sensing cat-eye lens. These devices also support the front auto-focus function. They can shoot exquisite close-ups of facial features. At the same time, the three models support natural portrait blur effects. On the front, these devices come with a 32MP RGBW selfie camera. Nevertheless, there are some changes in the rear camera. While the Reno 9 uses a 64MP main camera, the Reno 9 Pro comes with a 50MP Sony IMX890 main camera. The Reno 9 also has a 2MP monochrome snapper while the Pro model brings an 8MP ultra-wide unit.
Gizchina News of the week
Under the hood, the OPPO Reno 9 Pro+ comes with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. In terms of storage, OPPO Reno9 Pro+ and Reno9 Pro offer up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The Reno9 Pro however uses a Dimensity 8100-MAX chip. As for the OPPO Reno9, it comes with a Snapdragon 778G chip.
OPPO promises that its 512GB storage can last for 3 years if you need it for only images. Also, the company claims that if you take 80 photos every day, this storage can still last for years. These devices can shoot up to 10 minutes of 4K videos for fans of dramas. The 16GM of LPDDR5 RAM with ColorOS 13 supercomputing platform helps the OPPO Reno9 Pro+ obtain the five-star certificate of long-lasting smoothness in all scenes from Tell Labs. This device guarantees fluency in all scenarios.
The “dual-core portrait computing engine” brings powerful computing power and confidence, and puts the most critical light, shadow, colour, and details of a photo into the RAW domain for processing. Light and shadow calculation: RAW domain HDR fusion, the brightness of each frame is synthesized from unequal proportions to smoother equal proportions. The colour calculation goes up to 17Bit processing and the accuracy is 128 times better.
The OPPO Reno 9 series also uses OPPO’s self-developed image-specific NPU chip – Mariana MariSilicon X. As an image-specific NPU, it can perceive the world like the human eye and the human brain, and recognize the distance of objects in the image, just like our brain. It has cognitive abilities. Based on this ability, the picture in Mariana’s eyes has been calibrated 1:1 with professional full-frame cameras and optical lenses. This brings a new portrait mode upgrade – natural portrait blur.
OPPO Reno 9 uses 67W flash charging and has a built-in 4500 mAh battery. The Reno9 Pro uses 67W flash charging and has a built-in 4500 mAh battery. However, the OPPO Reno9 Pro+ uses 80W flash charging and has a built-in 4700 mAh battery.
“One More Thing” OPPO Reno9 has a new colour scheme, Master Red, which corrects the red colour, makes it brighter, and has a higher concentration. At the same time, through the microscopic crystal structure with a more regular arrangement and finer sand effect, the soft and delicate velvet touch and bright and high-grade positive red continue.
Reno9 series design technology
The OPPO Reno 9 series adopts the “Gold Silk Glass & Weaving Feather Pattern Tech”. Through the nano scale gold silk glass tech, it comes with a random texture. Using multiple nano coatings, the company was able to combine the texture and luster. OPPO previously launched the AG glass process in the industry. It also launched the flash sand process in the Reno series. However, glass technology on Reno9 goes a step further. Stereo etching not only allows the glass to grow a rectangular pyramid crystal structure but also allows the crystal structure to align and grow according to the design needs. Through the weaving pattern process, the glass grows a crystal structure and arranges the growth in a predetermined direction. In simple terms, the rear glass comes with different texture structures.
