The Honor X9a 5G smartphone’s Malaysia launch could be right around the corner. The first teasers of the handset have been revealed.

Taking to its Twitter account, Honor Malaysia has confirmed the 5G-ready phone is headed to the country soon. Notably, the teaser video gives us a glimpse into the Honor X9a 5G design.

Regrettably, the Chinese smartphone giant did not reveal the Honor X9a 5G smartphone’s Malaysia launch date. Still, the official images imply the X9a will be similar to the Honor X40.

To recap, the Honor X40 made its debut back in September carrying a price tag of $214. Also, it is worth mentioning here the X40 is the world’s thinnest smartphone.

Now, Honor has shared a short video that shows the durability of the X9a 5G’s curved display. Interestingly, the handset retains the rear camera design of the Honor X40.

Moreover, the Honor X9a 5G has a tagline “ultra-tough OLED curved display.” Yet, the teaser confirms the phone will be available for purchase in a white color option.

This display features a hole punch cutout to accommodate the front-mounted shooter. Likewise, the rear panel houses a large camera ring for sensors. There’s an LED flash on the back as well.

In the teaser video, Honor highlights the durability of the handset. Notably, the company drops it a few times on marble and concrete surfaces. However, the screen does not show any scratches.

Also, the X9a 5G seems to draw inspiration from the Honor X40 for its outward appearance. However, Honor did not reveal the Honor X9a 5G launch date in Malaysia.

To recap, the Honor X9 went official in Malaysia back in March. According to a report by Gadgets 360, the X9a 5G could launch in the global markets as a rebranded version of the Honor X40.

Notably, the base variant of the Honor X40 retails for CNY 1,499 (about $214) in China. For this price, you get a 6GB RAM+128GB storage model.
