Google new AI tool can create music from text
Google researchers have developed an AI system that can “make” high-fidelity music solely from text cues that users supply. For training, Google’s AI tech had to study 280,000 hours of audio. The AudioLM music creator is used by the new MusicLM system. The latter is a music-making tool powered by AI that gained some notoriety in October.
This system works in a simple way. Firstly, the user will have to enter a summary of the music. The system then creates a matching audio (2). The system needs to be aware of the type, length, genre, etc. for this. Users can also supply more info with MusicLM besides these specifics. In addition, the feature is capable of producing music that “inspires the sense of being lost in space”. The app may also be used to create music from a melody that the user hums or whistles.
This tool’s most notable feature is the merging of many neural networks. Each of them has the ability to manage a different stage of the workflow for creating music. MusicLM only makes use of one. The so-called Transformer architecture is used by Google.
