OnePlus Ace 2V switches Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 for Dimensity 9000

OnePlus Ace 2V

Earlier this month, OnePlus revealed the OnePlus Ace 2 in China featuring the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The device was basically the same OnePlus 11R that reached the Indian market. Since its release, we have been seeing rumors pointing to a new variant. That new variant would carry the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 CPU instead of Qualcomm’s chip. Back the last week, one of the company’s officials shared a curious teaser suggesting the launch of a new variant. Now, the device is confirmed to come as OnePlus Ace 2V.

OnePlus Ace 2V is the new Dimensity 9000-powered flagship

The President of OnePlus China, Louis Li, shared an image on his Weibo account. It reveals the new phone will come with an alert slider. Yes, after removing it from basically every device in 2022, OnePlus is now bringing in almost all of them. Apparently, users’ backlash still works these days, huh? Getting back to the point, the phone has a power key that sits in the middle, while the volume rocker is placed on the left-hand side of the OnePlus Ace 2V.

Worth noting that the teaser does not confirm the OnePlus Ace 2V with the Dimensity 9000. However, considering the amount of leaks, we can bassicaly confirm this. Also, Li says that the phone has “flagship experience”. Well, the Dimensity 9000 is based on 4nm archictecture and has 1 x ARM Cortex-X2 core. It definitevely is beyond the offerings in the mid-range segment. As per the rumors, the OnePlus Ace 2V will also bring a 64 MP OmniVision shooter. It will replace the 50 MP Sony IMX890 in the regular phone. Also, there won’t be 100W charging, “just” 80W charging.

Just like other Ace phones, the OnePlus Ace 2V will be exclusive for China. However, we expect some sort of makeover for global markets. It can easily become an OnePlus Nord, as we don’t think OnePlus will launch another variant for the OnePlus 11R. We would not be surprised to see it coming as OnePlus Nord 3. After all, rumors point to the new mid-range with the Dimensity 9000.

Right now, there is no forecast for this phone’s release. But considering the amount of leaks, we consider its launch imminent.
