Earlier today, Oppo took the wraps off its new Oppo Find X6 and X6 Pro flagship smartphones. In addition to the new premium smartphones, the brand also introduced the Oppo Pad 2 and the Oppo Enco Free3 TWS earbuds. The first is a sequel to the brand’s first tablet and raises the bar with a flagship chipset. The latter is pair of earbuds offering cutting-edge tech and an immersive audio experience.
Oppo Pad 2 specifications
The Oppo Pad 2 has the same 11.6-inch Display which is an LTPS LCD with 2,000 x 2,800 pixels of resolution. The panel has a 144 Hz refresh rate, and the big difference is in a 7:5 aspect ratio. It gives more room for vertical content and is also useful when you’re trying to use a lot of apps at the same time in the multi-window feature. So far, the device is not much different from the previous one, but the aspect ratio can make it look different. Things will change further once we check the internals.
A new powerful CPU
The Oppo Pad 2 ditches the old Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 for a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. The latter has 4nm TSMC manufacturing and ARMv9 cores, including one Cortex-X2 core. The device comes in options with 8 GB and 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512 GB UFS 3.1 storage. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to add a microSD card slot. So take that in mind when looking for storage.

The Oppo Pad 2 has a new design that resembles the OnePlus Pad. We have the Oreo-style camera, but apart from the fancy design, it’s rather simple. We get a 13-Megapixel main camera and an 8-Megapixel selfie shooter. These are pretty simple but will do the job on a tablet. The Oppo Pad draws its power from a large 9,510 mAh battery that charges at 67W.
In terms of software, the Oppo Pad 2 runs ColorOS for Pad. It comes with some fancy features for a decent experience on a big display. The company is also selling an Oppo Pencil 2 separately for the use of the stylus. It promises 23ms latency and up to 4,096 levels of pressure.
For now, the Oppo Pad is exclusive to the Chinese market. But that may change soon. The slate sells in Nebula Gray and Feather Gold color options. The base model has 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Internal Storage. It costs CNY 2,999 ($436). The high-end model with 12 GB/512 GB will sell for about CNY 3,999 ($582). The sales will begin on March 24.
Oppo Enco Free3
When it comes to the Oppo Enco Free3, we have a new pair of earbuds with advancements in the technology employed. For instance, it brings Hi-Res Audio streaming over the LDAC codec. Further, it comes with Bluetooth 5.3 standard, which is starting to gain more traction in the industry.
The earbuds also offer ANC as well as a spatial audio support. The TWS earbuds offer up to 30 hours with the charging case. They also boast IP55 rating dust and splashproof. The buds will be sold in green and white colors in China for CNY 499 ($73). The open sales will start on April 3.
