iQOO Pad will launch on May 23

iQOO is gearing up to launch the iQOO Neo 8 series in China. These devices already have a launch date set for May 23. However, they won’t be alone, as the company has also confirmed that it’s very first tablet, the iQOO Pad, will tag alongside. The slate has been waiting for a long time, and it is finally happening.

iQOO also took the opportunity to reveal the design of the upcoming iQOO Pad. To anyone’s surprise, this is very similar to the Vivo Pad 2. However, this is not a simple rebranding. Despite the similar look, the iQOO Pad is rumored to pack the Dimensity 9000+ instead of the Dimensity 9000 chip. So it should be slightly more powerful than Vivo’s offering. That makes sense since iQOO devices are usually focused on performance.

iQOO Pad alleged specifications

If this is a version of the Vivo Pad 2, then we already know what to expect. The iQOO Pad could come with a 12.1-inch LCD screen with 2,800 x 1,968 pixels of resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it should pack the Dimensity 9000+ with up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of Storage. It draws power from a huge 10,000 mAh battery with 44W charging and 5W reverse charging. The iQOO Pad should run Origin OS 3 with Android 13 as the underlying version.

The iQOO Pad will bring a primary camera with 13 MP resolution and a 2 MP macro unit on the rear. For selfies and video calls, the device will bring an 8 MP sensor. There is no 3.5 mm audio jack, but you can enjoy Bluetooth Sound and the device comes with stereo speakers for immersive audio.

Worth noting, that Vivo also has a keyboard case with a trackpad and a stylus for the Vivo Pad2. It remains to be seen whether or not these accessories will also come for the iQOO Pad. We expect iQOO/Vivo to keep disclosing more details as the launch date draws near. Right now, there is no info on global availability, but we expect the iQOO Pad to also hit other markets besides China.
