Nokia joined hands with the German company, i.safe MOBILE GmbH to launch two rugged mobile phones. These phones are the Nokia HHRA501x and the Nokia IS540.1. They are mainly suitable for industrial environments such as oil, natural gas, mining and chemicals industry areas. They have passed strict standards and rigorous durability testing.

Nokia says the phones can be used safely in areas with a high risk of explosion, such as ATEX Zone 1. It also claims that the device is usable in areas with less risk, such as ATEX Zone 2. Nokia also said that the phones support all necessary frequency bands and have obtained all required certificates. This makes them suitable for use by global companies.

The Nokia IS540.1 mobile phone is equipped with a 6-inch screen, protected by a Corning Gorilla 3 screen. It has a built-in Qualcomm eight-core QCM6490 processor, and its performance is close to that of the Snapdragon 778. The device also comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It has a 48MP camera with autofocus and a 5MP front camera. To keep its lights on, this device comes with a 4400 mAh battery.
