Honor Tablet 9 Launched with Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and Stylus support

The market of Android tablets has grown exponentially in recent years with more competitors joining the segment. In recent years, we saw the arrival of brands like Realme, Vivo, and Oppo in this segment. Every brand wants to catch a slice of this category and Honor is no exception. The former Huawei sub-brand is investing high to establish its name in the tech world. The brand recently launched a couple of solid smartphones like the foldable Honor Magic Vs series, and also good flagships like those under the Magic series. Today, Honor is bringing a new Honor Tablet 9 (Source) to compete in the segment of large-sized smart devices. The Honor Tablet 9 debuted today alongside the Honor 90 GT smartphone. It’s a mid-range slate aimed at multimedia consumption and content creation.

Honor Tablet 9 Key Specifications and Features

The Honor Tablet 9 arrives with a sleek profile. It has just 555 grams of weight and 6.96 mm overall thickness. It’s an all-metal body which makes it look like a premium tablet even though it’s a mid-range device. The Honor Tablet 9 sells in White, Blue, or Gray colors with either 8 GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of Storage and 12 GB of RAM with 256GB/512GB of Storage.

Under the hood, the Tablet 9 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. Qualcomm’s first mid-range chipset under the new vocabulary brings efficient 4nm manufacturing to the budget segment. The tablet has 4 x ARM Cortex-A78 cores for performance tasks and 4 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores for energy efficiency. This chipset is enough for regular social media, streaming apps, and web browsing. Of course, you can even enjoy demanding games with adequate settings.

A Large Display and 8 Speakers for Multimedia content

The slate is equipped with a 12.1-inch IPS LCD screen with 2,560 x 1,600 pixels of resolution and 500 nits of brightness. The panel uses anti-glare glass etching to eliminate up to 98% of reflections. The panel is certified with the Winning Bidding Institute for visual comfort and has TUV Rheinland clearance for non-reflection, low blue light, and is flicker-free.  Still in the multimedia department, the Honor Tablet 9 is equipped with 2 microphones and 8 speakers for true surround sone. There is also a native voice enhancement algorithm that can suppress noise and accentuate voices even from a recording.

Customers can buy the Honor Tablet 9 with a special paper-like screen protector which Honor calls the Soft Light. It makes writing and drawing on the display more enjoyable with a stylus. Interestingly, Honor is keen that the user will use the stylus and add templates for drawing within the Notes app. The new version of the app also supports voice-to-text.

The all-new Honor Tablet 9 boasts a huge 8,300 mAh battery complete with 35W charging. It’s enough for an entire day of lightweight usage. However, if you plan to use it for gaming you will probably need to charge it once. In terms of software, the tablet brings the Honor’s MagicOS 7.2 which is based on Android 13.

Pricing and Availability

The Honor Tablet 9 is on sale starting today at CNY 1,599 ($223). Honor is offering an early-bird discount of CNY 100. The variant with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Storage costs CNY 1,699 ($237). The model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Storage costs CNY 1,999 ($279) whereas the one with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of Storage costs CNY 2,199 ($307).
