In addition to the Huawei Nova 12 series which includes Nova 12, Nova 12 Pro and Nova 12 Ultra, the company also launched the Huawei Smart Screen V5. This device comes with the Huawei Lingxi pointing remote control and Honghun 900 chip. The SuperMiniLED Honghu picture quality also received a new upgrade. The new Huawei Smart Screen V5 is a giant 85-inch display and it is available for 17,999 yuan ($2,519).
In terms of design, the Huawei Smart Screen V5 adopts an ultra-narrow frame design. It uses an aluminium alloy material and a textured brushing process. There is a hidden beamline groove designed on the back of the fuselage. This provides a three-path beamline groove and a magnetic cover. This also makes the overall design of the TV much simpler.

In terms of image quality, Huawei Smart Screen V5 has a 95% film-level DCI-P3 wide colour gamut through its Honghu SuperMiniLED technology and high-brightness design. It has 576 backlight partitions, a peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits, and a full-screen brightness of 750 nits. According to reports, relying on the 4T NPU computing power of the Honghu 900 chip, the Huawei Smart Screen V5 is equipped with Honghu AI Precision Super Pro. It supports “1080p to 4K in seconds” and can conduct in-depth analysis of each frame to intelligently supplement a large number of pictures. It can also perform multiple special optimizations such as noise reduction, deblurring, and edge sharpening on the main body of the picture.
For TV/sports events, Huawei Smart Screen V5 supports a self-developed intelligent dynamic picture compensation algorithm. It is fast and smooth and supports compensation up to 4K120fps. The “Honghu Clear Light Control Pro” technology adopted by Huawei Smart Screen V5 can adjust the backlight. It combines scene analysis and subject recognition technology so that every detail in the picture, whether it is a bright part or a shadow part, will be accurately presented. This will make the entire picture more 3D and transparent. Combined with SuperMiniLED intelligent dynamic light control, it can achieve real-time pixel-level object recognition.
Huawei Smart Screen V5 also supports the “Honghu Qiguang Brilliant Master Edition” display technology. Through colour mapping and colour management algorithms, each frame of the image can be accurately analyzed and processed to ensure that every colour can be realistic and natural when presented on the screen.

In terms of eye protection, Huawei Smart Screen V5 supports low blue light, automatic brightness adjustment and natural colour display. In addition, Huawei Smart Screen V5 also comes with a giant screen AG anti-glare technology. This coats the surface of the TV screen with a special anti-glare material to effectively scatter incident light, thereby greatly reducing screen reflections.

The HUAWEI SOUND of Huawei Smart Screen V5 adopts a 2.1-channel design. The subwoofer adopts an exclusive patented differential suspension technology. Officials say that compared with the common 3-inch or 4-inch subwoofers on the market, its 5.25-inch and 12.6mm long-throw design ensure deeper and purer bass. This device can also combine with two or four speakers to form a 5.1-channel surround home theatre. It does this with a wireless connection using the HUAWEI Sound speakers.
HarmonyOS
In the system part, the Huawei Smart Screen V5 comes with a HarmonyOS 4 system. This system brings four major scenarios including home theatre, home fitness, home karaoke, and home games. It supports smart picture frames (photo walls, landscape windows, etc.), smart perception, children’s care, family connection, super screen projection, as well as mobile phone remote control, remote housekeeping, and three-person AI fitness.
