Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Teardown Reveals Large Vapor Chamber

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra made its debut just a week ago. Under the hood, the new phone comes with a couple of refinements over the S23 Ultra. But the biggest hardware improvement for the phone is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, which is tuned to be a more capable SoC than the standard 8 Gen 3.

While the chipset is designed for performance, it does demand a robust cooling solution. Thankfully, Samsung has taken proper measures. As showcased by in-depth teardown video, the Galaxy S24 Ultra packs an extensive vapor chamber. It should offer much better thermal management compared to its predecessor.

A Closer Look at the Disassembly of Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

As the video attached below shows, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has a much larger vapor chamber than its predecessor. This larger size means the new cooling solution is more capable of dissipating heat. With that, it also means that the thermals of the system shouldn’t be too high when you the phone under load.

This is a good thing as the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. The “for Galaxy” chipsets tend to come with slightly higher frequencies than the standard SoCs. This overclocking can definitely benefit from a better cooling solution.

And with a better cooling setup, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has the potential to score much higher than other phones with 8 Gen 3 in benchmarks. Besides the larger vapor cooling chamber, the teardown also showcases other internal aspects. One of the notable things is the pull tabs for the battery. These tabs mean that the battery is easily replaceable.
