ZTE Libero Flip Launches as the Company’s First Vertical Foldable Phone

ZTE Libero Flip

ZTE has unveiled a brand-new phone named ZTE Libero Flip in Japan. As the name gives away, it’s a foldable flip phone. But as the company’s first take device of such kind, ZTE appears to have done a good job in most aspects.

Among all, the Libero Flip has a very affordable price tag, at around $420, which is much lower than the flip folding devices that Samsung offers. But as it’s a mid-range folding phone, its specs don’t match the flagship offerings from Samsung Flip, Motorola Razr, or Oppo Find series. It also doesn’t have a large secondary display. But for the price, ZTE’s first flip phone is surely interesting.

Main Highlights of ZTE Libero Flip

Under the hood, the ZTE Libero Flip comes with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, which is an upper mid-range processor. While the SoC isn’t as powerful as Snapdragon 8 series chips, it can smoothly handle most day-to-day apps and games. This SoC is paired with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, enough for multiple large-sized files and moderately resource-intensive apps.

But the most interesting bit about the Libero Flip is the display. The vertically folding smartphone has a 6.9-inch internal screen and a 1.43-inch screen on the outer shell. Here, the other screen is circular, which ZTE has taken full advantage of. It can help you take selfies with the rear cameras, do a quick audio record, track steps with a widget, and more.

Speaking of the cameras, the ZTE Libero Flip has a 50 MP primary camera on the back. It’s paired with a 2 MP depth sensor, while the front features a 16 MP selfie camera. Other highlighted specs of the folding phone include a 4310 mAh battery with 33W QC4+ charging, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC.

The Libero Flip comes in three colors (picture attached below) and is currently available in Japan. But it should soon make its way to the Chinese market. There’s no information on global release yet.
