Liu Bo, president of Oppo China has revealed some highlights of their upcoming device on Weibo. Acknowledging the success of the A-series smartphones, the President says that Chinese consumers increasingly prioritize practicality. In response to this demand for longer-lasting devices, they will launch the Oppo A3 Pro.

According to the translated version (via Fonearena) of Bo Liu’s announcement, the Oppo A3 Pro will be “the world’s first ‘full-level waterproof’ phone, with military-grade shock resistance and long battery life.”

This will be made possible with an IP69 rating which is something that is even missing from top flagships in the industry. For comparison, the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the iPhone 15 Pro have an IP68 rating. In the highly competitive smartphone market, Oppo differentiates its upcoming product with high durability, which will surely be a selling point. The company has made bold statements regarding the durability of the A3 Pro, which is a good thing as focus on durability should be an important factor for smartphone companies.

Apart from the high-durability of the device, Oppo has revealed other details of the phone. The Oppo A3 Pro is announced to be launched on April 12 in China. The phone has a circular camera module on the rear. The images also reveal that there will be three sensors on the back with an LED flashlight.

The color options include Azure, Yunjin Pink, and Yuanshan Blue. The Azure option will have a glass back while the Yunjin Pink and Yuanshan Blue will have a vegan leather finish. All of these colors look beautiful, to say the least.

Leaked specifications

Moving on to the specifications, there is no official information yet. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the phone will have a 6.7-inch 1080p 120Hz OLED curved screen. The phone will also have a 64MP primary sensor. While, it will be powered with a Dimensity 7050 processor with up to 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. We eagerly await further details when the smartphone officially arrives in China.
