Assassin’s Creed Mirage becomes free to play for a limited time

Assassin's Creed Mirage game

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage is one of the most popular titles from the series. With it, Ubisoft has taken the players back to the game’s roots. Unlike some of the other previously released entries, this one goes heavy on stealth. That’s something that the OG players of the series wanted after Ubisoft tested an RPG-like approach with a large-sized open world.

Of course, there are reports about the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Red that suggest the game can have a huge open world. Before that comes out, you have the chance to play Assassin’s Creed Mirage for free. But there’s a catch to this. You only get to play the first 2 hours of the game for free.

Another thing about the free-to-play session is that it will end on April 30. That means you have less than two weeks to claim your free 2 hours of gameplay. The good part is that the progress you make in this promo playtime on Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be saved. So, if you decide to purchase the game afterward, you don’t need to play what you have already played.

What Assassin’s Creed Mirage Is About

In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, you play as Basim, a street thief haunted by visions. In the game, Basim is seeking answers and revenge. He joins the Hidden Ones, a precursor to the Assassin Brotherhood, and learns their ways.

As for the gameplay, the game recalls earlier Assassin’s Creed titles. There’s a focus on parkour, close-quarters combat, and stealth. It features a more linear story experience compared to recent RPG-heavy entries. Also, with this, the game returns to a “Black Box” design. You explore environments to find creative ways to eliminate targets.

Regarding the setting of the game, Assassin’s Creed Mirage takes place in Baghdad. It takes place during the Abbasid Caliphate, which is a new historical period for the series. You can get a better idea about the game by watching the trailer video attached below.
