Nothing’s Budget Brand CMF May Launch Its First Smartphone

Nothing has a sub-brand called CMF that focuses mainly on accessories. It is a budget-oriented brand offering earbuds, chargers, and other accessories. However, we did not expect that Nothing also had plans for something spicier for CMF. Turns out that Nothing might be preparing to launch a new smartphone under CMF. This will be the first smartphone with CMF branding.

The hints of the first CMF smartphone arrived from BIS certification spotted by 91Mobiles. A phone with model number “A015” was spotted on the database which is mentioned as a CMF product. This confirms that it does not belong to Nothing; as earlier speculations were of it being the Nothing Phone 3. Instead, the phone could be the CMF Phone (1).

Gizchina News of the week

Even though there is not a lot of information regarding any CMF phone, the certification is enough proof hinting that the company might be exploring the smartphone market. After all, Nothing has a presence in India. With its budget-oriented CMF branding, it has the potential to launch multiple competitive smartphones in the market. It could result in Nothing OS being more popular ultimately leading more people to know about the brand.

What CMF Phone (1) Needs To Offer?

There is no official name for the CMF phone, but let’s call it the CMF Phone (1) for now. Since their first phone is spotted in the Indian database, we will assume the first target market is India. Hence, the company will be competing against brands such as Xiaomi, Realme, and many more. To tackle these companies, they will need to bring high-performance devices with an aggressive price point. Secondly, the other highlight will be the Nothing OS which should bring a premium software experience without any advertisements.

Lastly, the CMF phones should focus on bringing an innovative design language that will set them apart. CMF, please do not copy-paste the circular camera module, we have seen too many phones already with this design.
