Samsung Reveals the Galaxy S24 FE Camera Specs: Familiar Camera, Fresh Appeal

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE

Yesterday, Samsung released a blog post which revealed the camera specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE mobile phone. The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE, a budget-friendly alternative to the flagship Galaxy S24 series, has been generating significant buzz in recent weeks. The latest leak suggests that the phone will feature a 50MP main camera with 1/1.57-inch sensor size and 1.0μm pixels. This sensor is the same one used in the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 FE, and Galaxy S24, indicating no significant upgrade in the camera department.

No Upgrades in the Camera Department

According to GalaxyClub, the main camera setup of the Galaxy S24 FE includes the ISOCELL GN3 sensor. This is a 1/1.57-inch camera sensor with a pixel size of 1.0μm and a maximum resolution of 8160 x 6144. The ISOCELL GN3 sensor is the same one used in the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 FE, and Galaxy S24. This means that users can expect the same level of camera performance as the previous models. While this might be a disappointment for some, it is not entirely weird due to Samsung’s history of reusing camera sensors across different models.

Other Specifications

According to rumours, the Galaxy S24 FE will use either the Exynos 2400 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, depending on the region. This is the usual way that Samsung release its devices. It would feature a 6.1-inch AMOLED display, 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, and a 4,500mAh battery. This battery is slightly larger than the Galaxy S24’s 4,000mAh unit. The phone should also launch in two storage variants: 128GB (UFS 3.1) and 256GB (UFS 4.0).

Launch Timeline and Availability

According to Phonearena, the Galaxy S24 FE should launch later this year. However, TechRadar reports that this device will arrive in late 2024 or early 2025 release. The phone will likely be available in select markets by the end of this year and in wider availability in the following year. A recent leak reveals the model number SM-S721 and codename R12 of this device. This indicates that the phone is indeed in development.

Conclusion

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE’s camera leak has revealed that the phone will feature the same main camera sensor as the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 FE, and Galaxy S24. While this might be a disappointment for some, the phone’s other specifications and launch timeline suggest that it will still be a competitive option in the budget-friendly smartphone market. With the launch expected later this year, fans of the Galaxy series can look forward to a more affordable alternative to the flagship Galaxy S24 series.
