Xiaomi has formally released its newest AI smart glasses during the “Human x Car x Home” event that was held in Beijing. In addition to the release, Xiaomi also introduced a foldable smartphone, a new smartwatch, as well as some smart home products.
Xiaomi Unveils AI Smart Glasses with Powerful Battery and Enhanced Capabilities
The new Xiaomi AI Glasses are packed with features that aim to simplify users’ everyday lives. The glasses have a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Users can simply use voice commands to take first-person photos and videos. The glasses are trained to recognize objects, translate texts in real time, and even scan QR codes for instant payments.
Built-in AI makes these glasses smart and responsive. Xiaomi’s virtual assistant, XiaoAI, powers the voice interaction. Users can ask questions, give commands, and get instant help directly through the glasses. This allows hands-free operation, ideal for travel, work, or daily use.
A standout is the battery life. The glasses offer 8.6 hours of run time on a single charge. That’s well over double the amount of battery life Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses offer, which last around four hours. Better again, the Xiaomi AI Glasses can charge up in just 45 minutes, so they are great for everyday use.
Xiaomi’s Smart Glasses Promise Seamless AI Integration and Fast Charging
Internally, the glasses are running the Qualcomm AR1 chip. The chip handles AI, so performance is rapid and seamless. The glasses can quickly and correctly interpret a sign or identify a product.
The base model of the glasses will retail for 1,999 yuan, or about $280, said Xiaomi. That is lower than some competitors, making it excellent value for tech-conscious users.
Meta dominates the international smart glasses market at present with more than 60% of annual sales last year. But the entry of Xiaomi may change the dynamics. According to experts, Xiaomi has one big plus point—its enormous ecosystem. The glasses can seamlessly integrate with Xiaomi smartphones, home appliances, and even electric cars.
The smart glasses market is growing very fast. Global sales in 2024 increased by 210%. Further growth of 60% in 2025 is forecasted by experts. With its long-lasting battery, affordable price point, and strong AI functions, Xiaomi is gaining ground in this fast-growing market.
