The tipster shared more details about the device today on Weibo. According to him, the iPhone Fold will mark the return of Apple's iconic Touch ID, though it may not be what you expected. Apple will not jump in the already consolidated under-screen fingerprint technology; instead, it will opt for a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Despite the rumors calling it iPhone Fold, the experience should be similar to an iPad that becomes an iPhone. It will come in the typical book-style foldable design.

The iPhone Fold will come with a main screen of 7.68 inches, and despite the lack of an under-screen fingerprint scanner, it will have an under-display selfie shooter. The cover panel will be a 5.25-inch panel and will come with a punch-hole snapper. The outer display is smaller than what we see on foldable devices, and perhaps, the goal here is to deliver a hybrid experience of an iPad mini when unfolded.
