Xiaomi started the rollout of its
HyperOS 3.0 recently and is still working to cover all eligible devices. As usual, the updates tend to cover the newer smartphones first, and then they reach older devices that are still under the coverage. Today, the company's latest Ultra flagship - the
Xiaomi 15 Ultra - is getting the
update treatment. Besides all the new features included in Xiaomi's skin, this update also bumps the device's Android version to Android 16.
HyperOS 3.0.5.0 Update Reaches the Xiaomi 15 Ultra
According to the report, some global units of the smartphone are starting to get the update. The European units are already getting the update with the build number 3.0.5.0.WOAEUXM. The update weighs about 8.9 GB, so be advised to download it only in a fast-enough network and be careful with your data plan.
The full changelog for the update is huge. But to keep things streamlined, it basically brings everything proposed with the
HyperOS 3 release. It has big performance enhancements, new animations, cleaner and refined visuals, and a redesigned home screen grid. There are unified, rounded corners across the system, and comprehensive optimizations across built-in apps. We also have Xiaomi's Hyper Island, which is the brand's take on Dynamic Island. It basically turns the punch-hole cutout in something more functional. Unfortunately, the current iteration is still limited to only basic system apps offering support for it. However, we expect it to be enhanced in the coming updates.
Some Features for iPad/iPhone/Mac Users
Xiaomi 15 Ultra's
HyperOS 3 update also allows you to mirror your screen content to an iPad. You can open multiple phone apps simultaneously and adjust their window sizes on a Mac. It is also possible to unlock your phone using Touch ID, Face ID, or your password on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Finally, there is a new post-quantum encryption system that keeps your data protected.
HyperOS 3.0 Highlights
- Phone-to-phone proximity sharing
- Connectivity with Apple devices
While the
Xiaomi 17 Ultra does not arrive, the 15 Ultra remains as the current king of the Ultra lineup.
HyperOS 3 will bring some fresh air to a device that is still powerful and capable.
